Classes For Fall 2026 - Spring 2027

In this 2 semester class students in grades 3-5 will read and discuss 7 young reader favorites. Each class includes a discussion of the reading, fun hands-on activities, vocabulary and games. Lessons will focus on an introduction to the study of literature, writing sentences and paragraphs. Students are expected to keep up with weekly reading assignments but no grades are given.

Classes:

This class meets on Tuesdays from 2:30 – 3:15 eastern. There will be 26 total classes, 13 each semester. Fall dates are: Sept. 8, 15, 22, 29 Oct. 6, 20, 27 Nov. 3, 10, 17 Dec. 1, 8 and 15. There is no class on Oct. 12 (Fall Break) or Nov. 24 (Thanksgiving Break). Spring dates are: Jan. 12, 19, 26 Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23 Mar. 2, 16, 23, 30 Apr. 6, and 13. There is no class on Mar. 9 (Spring Break).

The class fee is $115 for the year - all 26 classes. You can register by emailing: your student’s name and grade, the gmail address they will be using for class and your phone number to Cindy at cindysclass@lumpkinfamily.net Class size is limited to 6-10 students.

This Class is Full

This is a 2 semester class for young artists in grades 3-5. The class will focus on marker art techniques. It will explore a new master painter each week and complete a new project inspired by that artist’s work. Students are encouraged to share last week’s completed art at the beginning of each class.

This class meets on Mondays from 2:30 – 3:20 eastern. There will be 22 classes altogether, 11 each semester. Fall dates are: September 14, 21, 28 October 5, 19, 26 November 2, 9, 16,30 December 7. There is no class on October 12 (Fall Break) or November 23 (Thanksgiving Break). Spring dates are: Jan. 11, 18, 25 Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22 Mar. 1, 15, 22, 29. There is no class on Mar. 8 (Spring Break).

Required Supplies:

Pencil and good quality eraser
Ruler
A set of at least 20 water based markers (I like Crayola and Prang brands)
White card stock or smooth mixed media paper (at least 80# weight)
